Re: New logo and website design proposal
Hi Luis, > As part of the Guile project I imagine, I'd like to propose these visual > modifications for the logo and the website. this is very beautiful! The drawings are very pretty and friendly. I would suggest not to show too much code (like a full screenshot of an Emacs session), but maybe just a little bit in friendly colours, about as short as the example code on http://ruby-lang.org. [[The “G” in the logo is very round (presumably to better fit the round parentheses), as is the “e”. I find that the maximum gap between the “G” and the “u” is a little wide because of that, but that’s just nitpicking.]] I wished more project logos and websites received such a pretty and effective overhaul as this! Thank you! ~~ Ricardo
Slow compile times on master
Hi All, I thought I'd see how things are looking on master (great to see work is still progressing toward 2.2). I just wanted to check that the compile times I've been seeing are to be expected. My (pretty weedy) laptop took over a day to build one it hit building the scms. guile-snmp took a good minute or so to build the code for the shell (it's really pretty tiny). Is this expected at the minute? or more likely to be a problem with cacheing. Anyway, thanks all for the great work on guile. guile-snmp pulls off some pretty gnarly tricks with dynamic symbol lookup and it's all kept on working since 1.8 without breaking, which is pretty darned cool.
