Hi Assaf,

Thanks for the tip, I had never noticed this. Both issues should be fixed
now.

Cheers,

Hello,

You can change the URLs by visiting the project's page (
https://savannah.gnu.org/projects/shepherd/ ) and going to the "Select
Features" option in the "Main" menu.

There you can set the alternative URLs for each option (e.g. for the git
repository).

regards,
 - assaf

Follow-up Comment #4, sr #108948 (project administration):

Hello!
There's one addition: since there's a new shepherd git repository the link on
https://savannah.gnu.org/git/?group=shepherd should point to
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/shepherd.git instead of
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/dmd.git
Thanks,
Fabian

Hello!

We found a minor issue: clicking on "Source Code" on
https://savannah.gnu.org/projects/shepherd redirects to
https://savannah.gnu.org/git/?group=dmd (should be "shepherd" instead.)

Hi Karl,

Thanks for the super fast reply! Indeed, the discussion with rms took place
in private.

I'll email the sysadmins and maintainers lists to complete the migration.

Thank you!

Ludo'.

Follow-up Comment #1:

Hi Ludo - well, rms's confirmation doesn't seem to be in that thread, but I'll
take your word for it :).

I've done what can be done on the savannah side. dmd is no more, all has been
changed to shepherd afaik. (Reference for Savannah people:
http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/RenamingProjectGroup)

however, you yourself need to ask sysad...@fsf.org to make the changes on
ftp.gnu.org and www.gnu.org. as you (i'm pretty sure :) know, no one else has
access to those systems.

also, please write maintain...@gnu.org to tell them about the name change. as
you know, there are several infra files that need to be changed by them.

best,
karl

Details:

Hello!

After a discussion and with Richard Stallman's approval, it was decided to
rename GNU dmd to GNU Shepherd.

  https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/guix-devel/2016-01/msg00274.html

Would it be possible to rename the Savannah project from 'dmd' to 'shepherd'?
We would like gnu.org/s/dmd to redirect to gnu.org/s/shepherd, and
ftp.gnu.org/gnu/dmd should be a symlink to ftp.gnu.org/gnu/shepherd.

If you think it would be easier to create a new Savannah project, that's also
something we can do. Let me know!

Thanks,
Ludo'.
