I also discovered recently that I can set this in emacs:
(setq display-time-world-list
'(("Africa/Nairobi" "Nairobi")
("Europe/Amsterdam" "Amsterdam")))
and then run `display-time-world`
I have `display-time-world` bound to ` p t` (I'm using
emacs-evil-leader package in guix).

I've started to use tz to keep track of timezones. https://github.com/oz/tz It's a nice cli app written in golang. I install it with nix package manager currently but I hope to package it for guix soon.
