Just looked at your photos, could you please confirm that the exhibit and book 
deal exclusively with women's garments? (My husband is interested in men's 
Victorian fashion, as a foundation for his Steampunk interests, for himself.)

The doily represents a Dutch/Netherlandish lace cap, not ears. The original
would have covered the back of her head and only the front bits would show
from that angle.

I was VERY impressed how many of those photos are so reminiscent of the
original paintings! Thanks very much for posting.
