IIRC, it is the one that Janet Arnold talks about in the volume of 
Patterns of Fashion that covers the 18th century.  She describes it 
as a travelling costume I believe.  Someone's whose book is handy 
will have to confirm it for me however, since my books are still in boxes.

This outfit was used to wear from bed in the morning until you had finnished 
your toilette.
It was timeconsuming to get your hair set and also to make your morning 
toilette, so this outfit was used.
It was common to have visits of both ladies and gentlemen when you made your 
toilette.

My guess is that the danish winter and the huge rooms on the mannorhouses 
could be quite chilly in the mornings, so a hood could be quite usefull.
Men wore caps on their heads when wearing banyans, so why not a hood for the 
ladies..

I think the trim is silk ribbon, according to the text. Although it's 
a huge jump, I would guess that the dress is probably silk too, in 
that case. There is a booklet  by Naomi Tarrant  "The Rise and Fall 
of the Sleeve" which has a very early plaid dress in silk.

thankyou for sharing it. Just one question, do you know what the scale is on 
the patterns? I'm guessing it's most likely to be in centimetres, but I 
can't see it clearly indicated on the patterns and thought it might be

In the books which have similar patterns it's 1:10, (cms) but I don't 
know about the online patterns, as I haven't had time to study them.
