2010-09-28 Thread Hants LUG Chairman
Hi,

This is your mid-week reminder that the next LUG meeting and AGM will take
place on Saturday 2 October at Southampton University between the normal hours
of 10:00 and 4:30. We have one talk already and it will be our AGM.

So far there have been no nominations on the list for the committee but I am
aware of one off-list nomination for the chairman's position. Please send your
nominations to this list soon!

### In other news

The Surrey LUG are having their October meeting at Nokia as Bob recently
reported so if you miss our meeting there is a Surrey one a week later.

Though not confirmed it's hoped that the November meeting may be a joint
Surrey/Hants LUG meeting at Red Hat.

On 27 November there is the Barcamp meeting in Southampton.

[Hampshire] [ADMIN] October Meeting

2012-09-19 Thread Hants LUG Chairman
Hello,

I've had the confirmation email today that we have the meeting room at
Southampton booked for the next meeting on Saturday 06 October 2012 as
planned.

This will also be our AGM, and I'm pleased to see some people have put their
hat's in the ring! Please consider standing and please turn up to vote.

I will send out more details shortly and update the wiki - but I've been a bit
overloaded at work/on holiday/having new boiler installed at home etc. etc. of
late and a bit behind with everything.

The barcamp's now "sold" out but they may be looking into a second venue
nearby if there's demand. Tweet #bcsoton #metoo or email ch...@totl.net if
you're interested :-)

What time will the AGM be today? I can't make the whole meeting but may be
able to come for the AGM.

Alternatively, as there haven't been any nominations/seconds for any of
the posts, it might be best if the AGM was non-chorate so a re-run can be
held with more notice in a few months time.

If necessary the committee can use the co-option powers in the
constitution to replace any members who wish to stand down one-by-one.

Tony

I think we probably did have a quorum: there were certainly 8+ voting
members there but I don't know if we reached 10% of the voting
membership which is what the constitution requires if that number is
>8. There's about 100 names on the Wiki MembersInformation page but I
don't think that's the same metric so I am not aware of how many
'voting members' there are...

[Hampshire] [ADMIN] October Meeting and AGM

2012-09-30 Thread Hants LUG Chairman
Hello,

This is your one week notice about he next LUG meeting which is also our AGM.

As previously announced we will be guests at the University on Saturday O6
October 2012. The meeting will run from 10am until 4pm (approximate) with the
AGM at 12 noon.

To vote you must attend the meeting in person, but you do not actually need to
attend the meeting if you are standing for a post. It is essential that we
elect a new committee at the meeting as a number of current committee members
have stood down and we need a complete committe to function.

The following names have been thrown in to the hat. Anyone who has put their
name in the hat can withdraw it at any time and anyone who feels they would
like to stand can still do so.

Chris Dennishostmaster (or treasurer if required)
Imran Chaudhry general officer
Vic general officer or hostmaster
Andrew Ransom general officer
Tim BrocklehurstChairman
Victor Churchillgeneral officer
Ed Beckmann treasurer

If I missed a volunteer when I scanned the list please accept my apologises in
advance and please let me know and I'll add you to the list (and wiki during
the week).

As there are enough names for an election I'll not put my name on the list for
general officer but obviously I'm willing to help with the transition to the
new committee. I'll also not nominate of second anyone which means I can act
as returning officer for the election.

At this time I'd like to thank my fellow committe members, everyone else in
the LUG, our hosts and friends to allow the LUG to function.
