Re: Using HAProxy for ldap

2011-10-30 Thread Danie Weideman
Hi All

I am trying to check for an OpenLDAP and IBM Tivoli Directory Server .
There is a valid response from the OpenLDAP server however the IBM TDS
Server is up but I see the following error
"[WARNING] 302/184557 (14773) : Server HAldap/ldapTIM1 is DOWN, reason:
Layer7 invalid response, info: "Not LDAPv3 protocol", check duration: 4ms.
0 active and 1 backup servers left. Running on backup. 0 sessions active, 0
requeued, 0 remaining in queue."

I think it could be related to TDS server not responding in the right
format (resultCode (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4511#section-4.1.9).

Any ideas to get the TDS server integrated with HAProxy?

Kind Regards
Danie

Re: Using HAProxy for ldap

2011-10-30 Thread Danie Weideman
Hi all

Thank you Brane for the assistance.

I am testing the sollution and is using the check ldap option.

When I disconnect the one ldap server, haproxy does not see this (using the
web gui) server beeing down. If I mark this broken server as down, in the
web admin gui, the results are as expected.

My question then: how do I check from haproxy for ldap failures?

Kind regards
Danie

Using HAProxy for ldap

2011-10-24 Thread Danie Weideman
Hi

Is it possible to loadbalance between two active master ldap servers?

If so I would like for one to be always persistent.

Thanx in advance
