[HCDX] Dual DX Test-- THIS WEEKEND-- KJJR 880 Whitefish, MT & KSEN 1150 Shelby, MT

2022-11-01 Thread Les Rayburn

The Courtesy Program Committee (CPC) of the National Radio Club and
International Radio Club of America are proud to kick off the 2022-2023 season
with another “Dual DX Test” this weekend.

Chief Engineer Todd Clark will be doing maintenance testing starting on
Saturday, November 5th at 12:01 AM Mountain Time (0601 UTC) when KJJR, 880 AM,
will be testing on daytime power and pattern. 10,000 watts. Programming will
consist of sweep tones, Morse Code IDs, 1 kHz “long duration tones,” etc. The
test will last two hours, until 02:00 AM Mountain Time.

Part two of the dual test is the next day, Sunday, November 6th, at 12:01 AM
Mountain Time (0601 UTC) when KSEN, 1150 AM, will be testing on daytime power
and pattern. 10,000 watts. Programming will consist of sweep tones, Morse Code
IDs, 1 kHz “long duration tones,” etc. The test will last two hours, until
02:00 AM Mountain Time.

** Most of the United States will “fall back” one hour into Standard Time at
0200 local times on Sunday, November 6th. This will not affect the test since
KSEN is in the Mountain Time Zone. The test ends just as time changes.

We thank Todd Clark for getting the season off to a great start.

QSL INFORMATION

At the station’s request, the Courtesy Program Committee will be responsible
for verifying reception reports and issuing QSLs. All reception reports should
be emailed to:

d...@highnoonfilm.com

The new QSL rules for CPC-coordinated tests will be in effect for this test.
Please read them carefully.

NEW QSL RULES FOR THE 2022-2023 SEASON

DX Tests are arranged by the Courtesy Program Committee of the National Radio
Club (NRC) and the International Radio Club of America (IRCA.) Both clubs offer
low-cost, online-only memberships. It is appropriate that those seeking QSLs
should support the clubs financially. Please indicate in your request which
club you are a member of. It may improve the response time for your QSL.

QSL requests for DX Tests where the CPC will issue QSLs must be received within
30 days of the test.

A brief recording of at least two (2) minutes must be submitted. .MP3, .wav, or
.MP4 video formats accepted. No written reports unless accompanied by a
recording.

No remote receivers (Internet-based) will be accepted for QSLs. The exceptions
to this rule are as follows:

A.) If you constructed the remote receiver, maintained it, or contributed money
towards those purposes, you may use it to submit reception reports. Examples
would be DXers who built remote receivers in low-noise locations but operate
from home.

B.) Internet-based receivers you don’t own are only acceptable if they are more
than 500 miles from the transmitter of the test station. You must fully
disclose which receiver was used, including its URL. If the owner is known,
please provide their name so they may receive credit. Include the distance of
the receiver in miles from the transmitter site.

C.) Only one QSL will be issued per DXer, even if they operate multiple remote
receiver sites or use more than one remote receiver at distances of 500 miles
to receive the station.

QSLs will be issued only after the conclusion of the 2022-2023 DX Season.
Generally, this will occur in April. We will send out group emails when QSLs
are issued.

Unpaid volunteers perform all work in verifying reports and sending you a QSL.
We all have jobs, spouses, kids, and lives. Be patient. Be nice.

Re: [HCDX] SLBC news

2022-11-01 Thread Joseph Ihnat via Hard-Core-DX
I heard them same time and freq on Oct 27, 28 and 29, but not since. Not
sure if this is relapse of transmitter problem or if they've made a
sked/freq change for B-22. Maybe someone else knows?

Also received here direct, but at a poor level.

Signal abruptly disappeared at 0046, but came back after about 30

[HCDX] Glenn Hauser logs November 1, 2022

2022-11-01 Thread Glenn Hauser via Hard-Core-DX
** EGYPT. 9439.995, Nov 1 at 2155, JBA tone direct; 2201 into UTwente,
S9+35 of big multi-frequency tone, no programod at all, as something`s
always egregious in Egypt. Believe there was no R. Cairo signal last
couple days, unlogged (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Nov 1 at 0653, JBA carrier from R. Kiribati;
cursory 9/kHz split check does not find any TAs now (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MALI. 5995, Nov 1 at 0635, reliable ORTM is OFF. Manuel Méndez
Lugo, Spain, also reported: ``Logs in Friol, NW of Spain, Tecsun
PL-880, cable antenna, 8 meters: Radio Mali, Bamako, out of the air.
Checked 31-10 afternoon and evening, first on 9635 and later on 5995
and 01-11 morning, first on 5995 and later on 9635, no signal``. This
is/was one of the last national stations in Africa on SW.

5995 & 9635, Nov 1 at 1651, no signals either into Canary SDR (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA [non]. 7255-, Nov 1 at 0621, NO signal from VON. At 1652,
only CRI English into Canary SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 9515-9520-9525, Nov 1 at 0619, DRM noise at S9. HFCC shows
it`s RRI Galbeni in French at 0600-0630 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Nov 1 at 0029*, VOT finally turns off wrong German
hour only halfway thru it, shortly after posting my previous report.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. 7285+, Nov 1 at 0622, BBCish news about S Korea
crowdisaster, 0625 S Asian correspondent about the deadly footbridge
collapse in India, good signal direct, something new for B22. At first
I wonder if RNZP relay, as 7285 is one of their frequencies, tho
scheduled now in HFCC only at 1645-1900 in DRM --- and not at all in
RNZI own sked. They could have turned on second transmitter since
13730 is not propagating at all? Fat chance.

HFCC B22 reveals at 0600-0700, 7285 is really BBC via SAO TOME, 100 kW
at 335 degrees. That fits because this is characteristically
off-frequency, drifting upwards, measured at 0630 on 7285.036. 0632 as
`Newsday`. Why bother with different programmme names for all-news
segments? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. A couple of 10m ham beacons, both relogs, Nov 1 at

** U S A. 17790, Nov 1 at 2043, S9 of dead air from WRMI Radio Africa;
next check at 2154, gospel huxter still going rather than closing at
2100*, compensating? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330v, Nov 1 at 0620, WBCQ/WLCR is OFF, unusually at this
hour; still/again OFF at 1534. What`ll we do without the flat-earthers
to ridicule? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, Nov 1 at 0621, No signal from R. Vanuatu, not even a
JBA carrier vs local device birdie. But at 0700, JBA carriers on 7890
& 11835, so 3945 has come on to harmonicize (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Re: [HCDX] Glenn Hauser logs October 30, 2022

2022-11-01 Thread Wolfgang Bueschel

CUBA Checked the Tuesday mid noon UTC shortwave Radio outlet in Spanish
from Cuban island 13-14 UT on Nov 1st.

Much talk on respect on familia etc, also some :

Surprised missed Trinidad/Antilles RHC Spanish outlet of ex-USSR relay
Bejucal on 9535v towards MEX-GTM-CTR-Panama,

but noted
a similar characteristic TX relay of Radio Rebelde px (!)
via Bejucal 135 / 160degr outlet in 22 mb towards North Eastern
South America, at Antilles Trinidad azimuth.

Checked and confirmed the progr content via internet real player

" al ritmo de la vida "

https://www.radiorebelde.cu/

https://www.radiorebelde.cu/audios-bajo-demanda/radio_rebelde_en_vivo_frecuencia_am.html

\\ 13699.999 kHz totally characteristics of RHC Bejucal at 135degrees
towards NoEa South America. 13-14 UT

RHC Spanish px different talk sce noted at 13.04 UT on 9710even
via Bejucal bcast center site S=9+5dB in Edmonton-Alb, and \\ also
on non-directional 11760 kHz Bauta outlet to Caribbean basin.

Another Bauta bcast center CARRIER ONLY transmission
originate on 13740 kHz even - without RHC progr feed ! ,

and RHC Spanish heard also on 19mb on 15140 and 15230 kHz also.
Still seemingly til 16.00 UT.
