Corrected date for the test in the header. The typo was mine and I apologize 
for any confusion. Both tests begin at one minute after midnight 00:01 EDT 
(04:01 UTC) on Sunday March 26. Stay up late on Saturday to try for the tests, 
or record.

The Courtesy Program Committee (CPC) of the International Radio Club of 
American (IRCA) and the National Radio Club (NRC) are pleased to announce the 
2023 ?Spring into DX? tests from the Bluegrass State! Stay up late with us on 
Saturday night/Sunday morning as WWKY 990 in Winchester, KY and WMST 1150 in 
Mount Sterling, KY will both be conducting maintenance tests for two full 
hours. 

The test starts at one minute after midnight 00:01 AM EDT, Sunday morning March 
26 (0401 UTC) and lasts until 2 AM EDT (0600 UTC). Both stations will run at 
their daytime power and pattern. That?s 2,500 watts for WMST and 1,000 watts 
for WWKY. Snagging this dynamic duo will be a challenge. To help make it 
easier, the station is broadcasting some of the best DX test material 
available. 

The test will consist mostly of sweep tones, Morse code at 20WPM & 12 WPM (1 
kHz), 1kHz long tones, and proven sound effects to cut through the noise. The 
stations also plan to run some ?special programming? that is sure to be fun. 

CREDITS

This ?Spring Into DX" test is a direct result of the outreach efforts of Harry 
Dence and the generosity of Hays McMakin of Gateway Radio Works, Inc., who own 
both stations. Again, Hays and his team had to work around high school 
basketball and March Madness to make this test go, so you have our thanks. 
Kudos to our all-volunteer CPC team as well!

QSL INFORMATION

The usual rules for a CPC-scheduled test apply:

Reception reports must be received within 30 days (May 10, 2023) 
QSLs for all DX Tests from the 2021-2022 will be answered when the season is 
over. Be patient.
Reception reports must include a recording of no more than two minutes in 
length. .MP3, .WAV or .MP4 video accepted.

Julho resuming after missing from signature off-frequency since at

** BRAZIL. 9664.533, March 23 at 0645, S6/S8 music from R. Voz
Missionária, way off-frequency again after a spell close to nominal
9665.0 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2183)

** CUBA [and non]. 9535, March 23 at 0651, RHC Spanish ID clashing
with R. Ndarason International via Woofferton UK, which starts at
0600, and RHC supposed to stop at 0500; at equal level totaling S9+10
making medium-rate SAH. 9700 nor other RHCs overtime found now.

** KUWAIT. 7590, March 23 at 0643, JBA music, only thing sked is R.
Farda at 0230-0830, a bit late for that long after sunrise; also with
weak 2-way QRM from 7591 USB. Meanwhile no VOK on 7580 but that`s not
on until 0700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, March 23 at 0641, VON is on at S7/S9 but just
barely modulated. Something`s always abnormal at Abuja (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. From Lucas Bandura, BC: ``Regarding the 4015 USB
pirate, it is still the Russian ethnic pirate without a doubt. The
music he plays varies but his signal is very distinctive. I agree with
Gary Pence that the signal does seem to be from some southwest US
location other than Arizona, but I am still not totally sure. The TDoA
results are reliable (which usually means they are somewhat accurate)
but listening on different SDRs the location seems different. The
actual station ID is not heard often, I have attached a recording.
There is a bit of speech in a language I have yet to identify that he
plays often, but I have no idea what it is (that sounds like what
Glenn heard). I have also attached a recording of that`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2183)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2182 monitoring: confirmed UT
Thursday March 23 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+10/20 into Maryland SDR.

direct but noisy.

(A)Starlight radio via space shuttle  on 9289.938±50Hz
on 13 and14z today 21 with variable carrier via Skanderborg DK  the only SDR 
thatcan  receive clear their signal in Europe/Sporadic QRM /QRN from ALE , 
wideband noise and another full band QRM andprogram with rock songs some of 
them very crazy  . Heard the name of Dan Robinson on 14z andmine two times 
after 1415z  
Any other places with just traces in the waterfall including Wessex and other 
9kSDRs in 2 hours! QTH at Mt Olympus  and outdoors[piscine ] with no signal  . 
17500 empty 25800 with some poor signal 


(B)21/5 V o Mongolia  has been heard via Novosibirsk SDR with signal -70dbm on 
12084.88 with 1x50Hz ,2x100HZ  audio strings in both sidebands plus more 3 
100HZ harmonics or lowerlevel Time 0955

(C)Just listening to Zeppelin  the only Greek station on shortwaves from 1750to 
1810 on 6290 with the pl330 and external 20+ m antenna coupled on theradio’s 
antenna with 38/10 signal (good) Western pop songs mix and ID on 1750and 18(v) 


Kept in the frequency for more than 2 hours ofsporadic listening to around 20z  
with nearly the same music format while experimenting with different head and 
ear-phones for the most isolatingsound due to relatively high volume from the 
nearby TVInteresting  video:  On 2155 the Ralph Bender made a 2 min video 
recording with the station airing some Greek songs of 70s

[HCDX] "SPRING INTO DX" TEST 2023-- WMST 1150 & WWKY 990 THIS SUNDAY MORNING, MARCH 26 00:01 AM-2AM EDT 0400-0600 UTC

Corrected date for the test in the header. The typo was mine and I apologize 
for any confusion. Both tests begin at one minute after midnight 00:01 EDT 
(04:01 UTC) on Sunday March 26. Stay up late on Saturday to try for the tests, 
or record. 






The Courtesy Program Committee (CPC) of the International Radio Club of 
American (IRCA) and the National Radio Club (NRC) are pleased to announce the 
2023 “Spring into DX” tests from the Bluegrass State! Stay up late with us on 
Saturday night/Sunday morning as WWKY 990 in Winchester, KY and WMST 1150 in 
Mount Sterling, KY will both be conducting maintenance tests for two full 
hours. 

The test starts at one minute after midnight 00:01 AM EDT, Sunday morning March 
26 (0401 UTC) and lasts until 2 AM EDT (0600 UTC). Both stations will run at 
their daytime power and pattern. That’s 2,500 watts for WMST and 1,000 watts 
for WWKY. Snagging this dynamic duo will be a challenge. To help make it 
easier, the station is broadcasting some of the best DX test material 
available. 

The test will consist mostly of sweep tones, Morse code at 20WPM & 12 WPM (1 
kHz), 1kHz long tones, and proven sound effects to cut through the noise. The 
stations also plan to run some “special programming” that is sure to be fun. 

CREDITS

This “Spring Into DX" test is a direct result of the outreach efforts of Harry 
Dence and the generosity of Hays McMakin of Gateway Radio Works, Inc., who own 
both stations. Again, Hays and his team had to work around high school 
basketball and March Madness to make this test go, so you have our thanks. 
Kudos to our all-volunteer CPC team as well!

QSL INFORMATION

The usual rules for a CPC-scheduled test apply:

Reception reports must be received within 30 days (May 10, 2023) 
QSLs for all DX Tests from the 2021-2022 will be answered when the season is 
over. Be patient.
Reception reports must include a recording of no more than two minutes in 
length. .MP3, .WAV or .MP4 video accepted.
