I don`t have the patience to monitor such a poor signal for complete several-minute sequences, but random chex since reactivation have heard nothing but NRRs here nor on 6754 USB at night. Has anyone, or is this completely pointless? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE [and non]. 6100, Sept 29 at 1524 tune-in, `La Boulangère` MiniTransAt special hour via TDF Issoudun, S9+25 and nothing yet on alternates 5975, 13735 nor 15300 into UTwente. Weather info in French, alternating immediately with same in heavily-accented English by same announcer. La Boulangère means female baker, why?? At 1527 switch to recitation of rankings in the yacht race so far with distances traveled. 1534 closing, ``à demain`` and into rock music which I expect to fill out the hour like last time, a James Bond theme. By 1540 I realize it has gone off but am hearing some weak talk instead. During the bc there was also slight CCI from this understation, i.e. CRI in Russian via Kashgar, East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs and other Moslems. HFCC shows it`s 100 kW ND, so not much signal toward Europe, target area rather CIRAFs 30SE, 31SW and 40E (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ITALY [non]. 7290, Fri Sept 29 at 1815, IRRS SW is S9+5/15 into UTwente, and nil on second harmonic 14580, in `Shortwave Report`, recordings of DW and other stations, i.e., the time slot from which WORLD OF RADIO was canceled months ago. But Dan Roberts is chopped off halfway thru at 1830 for IRRS SW ID and Feature Story News; 1833 S Asian song, and plug their alt identity as European Gospel Radio, same repeated at 1845 after non-gospel music fill, then more of that. 1852 cut to discussion of AI. *1857 ACI starts from 7295 CRI English via Kashgar. 1858 back to a song. 1859 IRRS s/off 7290, to continue on 1323 kHz. Aoki and EiBi claim the secret 7290 site is Bulgaria. Only S6/S9 direct but much better than Asian signals on band generally weak and/or disturbed, so whence? Australia, Taiwan, or Big Secret? Along a busy rush-hour artery street, also found dead air on 87.9 and 93.1, the latter at least also in $tereo; obviously unfed hungry RF feeders in vehicles (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SWITZERLAND [non]. 15420-15425-15430, Sept 29 at 1601, Claudius Obrecht`s special hour of his electronic music, as publicized, 100 kW via Woofferton UK eastward toward target India. After finding Pune and Bengaluru SDRs blocked due to something (else?) DRM requiring full resources, I get it via #3 of the four 9K2RA SDRs in Kuwait. First time I have listened to one of his music specials, and enjoyed till 1659*. He makes frequent announcements in German, sometimes also very heavily accented English, and sometimes talking over his music. Plugs his website. No dropouts or QRM. Display shows 10.26 kbps, not sure of bandwidth but nothing hifi for music, and mono of course. I bet he made it originally in stereo. Is stereo possible with DRM? If not, why not: that could be a major selling point, but no doubt if employed would make it even less robust. ID at 1620: ``This is C. M.
