[HCDX] Glenn Hauser logs October 8, 2023
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Sunday Oct 8 at 1553 and 1650 chex, NO LRA36 signal into Argentine or Brazilian SDRs - despite sked they just sent to Manuel of 15-17 daily except Sat 18-23 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 13735, Oct 8 at 1520, again I tune UTwente in too late to hear any weather or race info from MiniTransAt, already in rock medley music fill bits, including 1522 ``Sweet Dreams``, 1526 ``We Will Rock You``, S9+15. 1527 ``à demain``, and James Bond closing theme, from which movie? 1528 dead air to 1530.2* off - or rather not quite: still a JBA carrier at S7 past 1608, presumably the Issoudun exciter not also turned off as nothing else is known on 13735. https://minitransat.fr/ map shows all vessels still at Santa Cruz de La Palma on east side of island, no departures yet for Guadeloupe. Also details of race standings places 1 thru 28 with three more at the bottom dropped out, ``abandon``. There are no Atlantic hurricanes now, but a ``tropical wave`` developing might be a problem. See https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php Petteri Kostermaa explains: ``Hi Glenn, Re "I wonder if leaders keep leading or they all re-depart La Palma at once." Yes, they all depart at the same time from La Palma on 28 Oct. It is the total time of both legs that determines the winner. 73s, Petteri`` --- hmm, that`s quite a long layover, but welcome recovery? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KURDISTAN [non]. 11510, Oct 8 at 0649, JBA music, presumed Turco/Kurdo radio war as nothing else in the 11.5s; 11525, Oct 8 at 1445, JBA music, ditto, nothing else below 11590 = KTWR in Kazakh. I suspect Dengê Gel and consequently Recep the Jammer could appear on any 5/kHz-step channel in this range, not necessarily at same time (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, Oct 8 at 1507 UT, K17JN Enid still on air transmitting nothing but black and silence; including the three ``audio only`` subchannels which were always black - and one of those was always silent (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2211 monitoring: confirmed UT Sunday October 8 at on WRMI 9955, this new time finally activated after several weeks on the alleged skedgrid: S9/+5 into Bonaire SDR, maybe a trace of jamming during fades. Not confirmed, UT Sun Oct 8 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, nor expected as changed to `Thank You` show previously. I`ve asked Jeff what that`s for, and if it`s a WRMI produxion or from elsewhere. Nasty ute is still blasting noise at 0030 for first 14 seconds. NOT confirmed, UT Sunday Oct 8 at 0300 on WRMI 7780, despite appearance on skedgrid several days ago; instead, Slovakia in English. Guess what: skedgrid shows 7780 at 0300-0330 on BOTH Systems D & F, the latter with RSI English and // 7730, where I think I am also hearing it but not synchronized. I notified Jeff about this contradixion, and now I see that Sys D sked has deleted WOR and everything else at 0300-0330 daily. Confirmed UT Sunday October 8 at 0311 about 4 minutes into so started circa 0307 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, S9+15 into nearby MO SDR. As usual, not awake during Sunday 1030-1100 on WRMI 9955; has anyone reconfirmed that airing lately?
