[HCDX] GREECE HAS SENT HELLASSAT INTO ORBIT

Yesterday 28th  on ca 21Z15, Greek satelitte  Helassat 3 has rocketed  from  
Courou N Guiana the 2nd satelitte in series  togeher with another for India  . 
There was  a delay of  about 14 minutes for  the final  check. Satelitte will 
land in several days in its orbital position of 39E and will handle various 
telecom services   that include  Satelitte  Tv , IPTV,  GPS , marine uses   and 
much more .Its payload is 5 tons

The program  has been  aired via the national  TV channel ET1  starting from 
20Z30  to at least 22Z00  the time i stoped watching ie due to  very late time  
(2 morning LT  ) that was too boring after . PTT ministers from Greece and  
Cyprus  in Courou  have also  discussed the  topic live with the female  blonde 
 newsacster  .In the first part of the program ie half hour before the flight  
an ex-graduate student of the Thessaloniki Uni  related to aerodynamics 
discussed also the topic adn thn hwole process  from ingiton to orbit  and  how 
it will be monitored 
It is a big  revoluton for our country.15  years after the fist Hellassat 
landed  Greece returns agressively into satcoms and next year its sucessor 
hellasat 4 will be orbited in the same posotion to  replace the existing 
Helassat 2. 
FYI the satelite  parts industry is one of the few healthy industries in Greece 
with high export rates  of at 150MEu  last  year.

little stronger S=9+45dB or -27dBm POWERHOUSE,
stronger than \\ 9420.005 kHz.

9420.005 the usual 323 degrees azimuth outlet.
S=9+35dB or -41 dBm.
Relay of home domestic Greek service program.

Very late time pips heard at 03.00:37 UT,
station ID and Greek National Anthem played at 03.01:04 UT,
Male Greek news reader started at 03.02:04 UT.
Now at 0312 UT nice Greek folk music singer group in progress,
and female and male presenter talk followed too.

GREECE  9420.006 and 9934.964 kHz Greece foreign radio from Avlis in Greek
language noted at 2115 UT on March 30.

9420 as usual S=9+25dB or -44dBm signal strength most probably
on 320degr antenna towards WeEUR and North America.

But 9935v kHz seemingly on reduced power on S=8 or -78dBm strength.

Latter as usual the faulty accompanied 197 Hertz spur BUZZ signals outlet,
like a garden fence, 13 x spur strings each 197 Hz distance apart each other
visible (and buzz heard) either sideband.

1258-1307 UT, when time pips at 13 UT were too late, end pip happened late
at 13.00:39 UT. 10.8 kHz wide broadband audio signal, S=9+35dB signal
strength here in Germany. Noted very clean audio quality.

Speech to crowd in Spanish! language for two minutes duration, short piece 
of papa Francisco on recent Cuba journey visit noted at 1301 UT, then 
followed by Greek female reader comment.


Nothing heard \\ on 9935v 11645 15630, nor 15650 kHz.

S=9+30dB in southern Germany.


But ALSO HIT BY A WHINE WHISTLE TONE varying-wandered in
9421.788 kHz frequency range,
some 1783 Hertz whistle tone heard on upper sideband.

\\  9934.943 footprint odd frequency. Annoying BUZZ tone accompanied the
S=9+40dB ERT audio signal from Avlis here in southern Germany
at 21.05 UT on Aug 21.
[selected SDR options, span 12.5 kHz RBW 15.3 Hertz]

9934.943  BUZZ signal like GARDEN FENCE showed in Perseus browser screen
12 times! x accompanied buzz spur peak signals - each sideband - peaks at
varying-wandered 297, 594, ... Hertz apart distance ..., each sideband.

Flute station ID of ERT Avlis noted when tuned-in at 0330 UT on July 11.
9934.997 kHz but wandered in following 10 minutes up to 9935.003 kHz, also 
13 wandering peaks visible, each 54 Hertz apart distance both sidebands. 
Compared to 9420 \\ bcast, 9935v is much lower modulated today,

only 10% mod noted.

Weak S=6-7 signal in Detroit MI-US SDR remote unit, S=8-9 in Russia, 
S=9+10dB in Italy, Germany, Belgium remote SDR's.


\\ 9420.005 kHz was much stronger S=9+10dB signal in Detroit-MI-USA, 
S=9+20db in Moscow Russia.

And S=9+20dB or even more in Italy, Germany, and Belgium.

Propeller sound is back on ERT-open broadcast,
when checked at 0620 UT Nov 25.

And transmitter moved now down from 11645.009 kHz to 11644.973 kHz on lower
side. Frequency measured is unstable, hopps up/down 2-3 Hertz now.

In the first hour from 05 UT on 11645v I heard a clean audio on this
frequency.

11645v kHz broadcast suffered again on faulty audio modulation of propeller
airscrew tones at the transmission.

Browser signal screen shows a heavy garden like FENCE of peaks visible,
like 16 x 120 Hertz on either sideband,
als well more 8 x 60 Hertz - midst - apart distance too,
on 60, 120, 180, 300 Hertz distance  etc.

Signal is up to 24 kHz wide.

Mixing product, 15650 minus 9420 = 6230, analogous to 6210 previously heard
which is 15630 minus 9420. So 6230 is possible whenever both higher frequencies
are on the air from Avlis. I wonder if you are close enough to be getting this

[HCDX] Greece

GREECE   A different Greek lang domestic relay heard today on 12105[S=9] kHz
at 0800-1000 UT. Separate to remaining ERA5 program on three channels: 9420
[S=9], 11645[S=8], and 15630[S=9+20dB].

No French, no Spanish sce on 15630 this Sunday.

Surprisingly ERA5 11645 kHz channel via SVO Olympia Radio (Athens Radio) at 
Pirgos Epitaliaon at 37 36 11.7 N 21 29 11 E was four [4! ] seconds behind 
sync 9420 and 15630 kHz.

More surprisingly 11645 kHz had a continous audio flow, noo audio/tx 
breaks anymore.

USA WTJC noted fading-out around 0850-0900 UT on 9369.91 kHz, religious 
singer, ID and address at 0900 UT.

[HCDX] Greece 108,0 MHz

[Jorma Mantyla]

On June 1st there was a nice sporadic Es-opening towards
Greece.  Some stn id's are in mp3 format on my web site.
Can anyone help me with the mystery station on 108,0 MHz?

This Greek stn is from thr Northern part of Greece.  Possibly the
same station had advertisements for Thessaloniki area.

[HCDX] Greece on 1566 MW

For quite some time, I noted a station playing greek music on 1566 kHz MW.
On Oct 08, I also heard a conversation in Greek at around 17:15 UTC. It did
not sound like a pirate station, but rather like an official station. It has
clear audio, stable carrier and regular s.off times (I think it is 00:00 or
01:00).

Anyone else hearing this?
