Blaming the CEO isn't fair. They have every right to be compensated at
ridiculous levels, being that they are in charge of such large
organizations. All CEOs are ridiculously compensated.

Sure, but I'm struck by the thought that if the LAW was a corporate
office could have only the healthcare plan offered to the janitory, we
wouldn't be having a lot of these arguements.

I assume that while we still have HIPAA, that the City of New York meets all

[Hardhats-members] Create new vital sign

2006-02-20 Thread Usha

Hi

I want to create a new vital sign to document sugar
level. How can I create this so that it is visible from CPRS and VITALS GUI and
be treated like existing vitals (temperature, B/P, etc.)?

Regards
Usha

Re: [Hardhats-members] Create new vital sign

2006-02-20 Thread Nancy Anthracite
There is a package in VistA that is made to input data for blood sugars done
with bedside glucose monitors of certain brands. I will try to dig up the
information on that if you want it.

But, the best I can thing to do is to find something in the vital signs
managers GUI that you can modify to fit. I thing it is called changing a
qualifier or something like that. For instance, for height at one time I put
in fundal in order to have a way to capture fundal height, even though that
is not part of the package and height was supposed to be the height of the
person, not the fundus.

I would disagree that blood sugars should be put in with blood
pressure and other vitals. There are many office bed-side labs that
can be done. Will these be put into the vitals? I.e. hemoglobin,
INR...

I would like to see pulse oximetry be put in, though.

Nancy,

I think that the server stores the various sizes of the different

These look like x,y coordinates for top, left and bottom, right. So

Re: [Hardhats-members] How to change text

2006-02-20 Thread Nancy Anthracite
Do you want the code for the GUI form, i.e., the Delphi code?  It is at

ftp.va.gov/vista/Software/Packages/Order Entry-Results Reporting -
OR/Programs/

or look at the Technical Manual for the CPRS Gui at

http://www.va.gov/vdl/Clinical.asp?appID=61 to see what parameters, etc. can
be changed?

Or do you want to translate it or something like that?  If you want to change
the language, email Chris Richardson as he is working on
the internationalization issues. ( I sent her Chris' email address in a
private email.)

If that didn't answer what you need, try explaining it a different way and I
will see if I can help.

RE: [Hardhats-members] CPRS Patient Selection Window Cut Off

2006-02-20 Thread Roy Gaber
That is it exactly Kevin, the values are stored based on the way the user
closed CPRS. Again, the same values are used regardless of resolution, that
is the reason for the inability so see some windows/buttons when changing
resolutions.

Nancy,

I think that the server stores the various sizes of the different
windows, so it can restore user-specific settings.

These look like x,y coordinates for top, left and bottom, right. So
your settings would be different from others.

I guess I wasn't paying attention: Is this a Linux problem?

Note that the ability to adjust screen resolution is a function of
the driver, so if you boot a different OS, then you may not have a
driver that support your display (graphics card).

There is a package in VistA that is made to input data for blood sugars
done

with bedside glucose monitors of certain brands. I will try to dig up the
information on that if you want it.

But, the best I can thing to do is to find something in the vital signs
managers GUI that you can modify to fit. I thing it is called changing a
qualifier or something like that. For instance, for height at one time I
put
in fundal in order to have a way to capture fundal height, even though
that

is not part of the package and height was supposed to be the height of the
person, not the fundus.
