It looks like you're locked into buying the HP mini-pci card, which
sucks rats.

Also, 99.999% of laptops do not have upgradable video cards, so you're
going to be stuck with that 9600.

The specs on that laptop don't seem that bad, though. I wouldn't turn my
nose at it.

Ok maybe I should ask another question then.

Whats the best 500GB hard disk to get? Lets keep it around $200, nothing
ultra high end.

You will need an external power source but maybe not an external power
adaptor. I have a Bytecc enclosure for a DVDRW drive that has the PSU
built into the enclosre. I realise that may increase the heat but if the
case is designed well it should not.

Unless it's a laptop drive you'll need an external power supply.

I have two of the cheap CompUSA aluminum enclosures and could not be

That's probably a trick to get more people to load the toolbar.

[H] Exchange 5.5 question...

2006-09-06 Thread Bobby Heid
Hi all,

Not sure how to ask this as I do not have full info...

A client called me today to ask me about an issue at his work (he's the
pastor at a large church and I have done stuff for him on his personal pc).
The scenario is that the use uses remote admin to connect to their local
server and they run a MMC snap-in called Distribution Admin to work with
their email distribution list. The user went to delete an email address and
she thinks she deleted all of the email addresses.

The server has some Exchange 5.5 items in the programs menu. I am assuming
that she is running Exchange Server.

Anyway, has anyone heard of that snap-in? And does anyone know how to
restore the mailing list (probably contacts) that she deleted? They have
server back-ups, but she is not sure what is backed up.

Thanks,
Bobby

Re: [H] External HDD recommendations

Unless it's a laptop drive you'll need an external power supply.

I have two of the cheap CompUSA aluminum enclosures and could not be
happier with them.

Any recommendations?

But at least they're web apps.

And the Google toolbar is less crapware than Yahoo's.

I just bought this for a client from www.ZipZoomFly.com (isn't that a stupid

It had a rebate that went out on 8/31.

Get the 4300. It's the exact same as the 4100 but with a wireless option
that you can easily turn off. That way when you become comfortable with
using wireless, all you need to do is enable it again.

Hayes,
Noticed and visited your link re DLink. Was a wireless solution.
Did find the DGL-4100, which seems to be the "wired" brother to your
rec. It may be the solution. Really hate to retire a very
solid RT-314. But, ... :)

Yes, I do see that wireless has gotten better. Not "better"
enough for me yet. I do accept that I might be a late acceptor.

Disabling the wireless on a wireless router is easy; and if disabled in BIOS
is not enough, most of them have removable antenna ;)
