[H] used parts for sale...

2007-06-08 Thread Huntress
I've got a few good used parts for sale and I wanted to give this group
first crack at it before posting on Ebay. at the moment I've got about
7 mobos , 4 ComPaq PSUs and two laptops. I'll be taking digipics and
logging model numbers this weekend. These are all "As-Is" and for parts
only and only for those of you who need older parts. Everything has
issues so beware. I don't know what is wrong with each part so... make
an offer. I'll post pics, model numbers and such tomorrow.

All the ones I've bought came with a splitter.

So you need to have an available floppy power connector available for
each PATA>SATA adaptor?

Yes. I just purchased a bunch of power Y's that split into one floppy and
one regular molex and use one of those with each adapter.

The adapter itself is powered through a four pin floppy power connector, and
does have a green LED indicating access.

[H] Laptop in Sleep Mode

2007-06-08 Thread Al Anger

I have a laptop that went into hibernation while "searching for new
hardware" and I can't get it to wake up. Tried everything; held the
power button down; removed all power. Toshiba Satellite 170.
Any help?

2007-06-08 Thread Greg Sevart
The converter plugs into the PATA drive and sits flush against the data
connector. The drive's molex power connector is exposed and plugs in
normally.
The adapter itself is powered through a four pin floppy power connector, and
does have a green LED indicating access.

I stared at the pix on the newegg page shared. I am confused. Where do
these converters get plugged into? On the eide connector of a HD? And,
what are all the extra pins (5?) in the plastic cover cutouts
for? Foggy4Sure.. :)

I don't think there are many companies actually making these thing, just
loads of different branding on them. IT also seems that some places must be
making a killing on them as others can sell them for a fraction of the
price.

The cheapest ones on Ebay are 9 bucks each including shipping while the
Newegg ones are 13 and no shipping...so four bucks different but a lot
better vendor, and a name brand product. And the Ebay ones are shipped
direct from Hong Kong. But it is getting better. A year ago nobody had
these for less then 25-30 dollars.
