Re: [H] Dell Inspiron 700M
You mean you can't get the driver from Dell's site? i386 folder alone is not enough to do a reinstall of the OS AFAIK. Winterlight wrote: Well I may have to do this after all. One of the viruses seems to have seriously effected the Intel wireless adapator to the point where I can not load the driver. I don't have the Dell disk, nor any hope of getting it, but I do see the i386 directory on the C drive. Will that work? Just install from the hard drive with the key and then online activation... or will I have to call and explain to MS? I may have to take you up on that offer Chris.
Re: [H] wireless problems
Same as a wired lan card. In control panel-network connections right-click on the name of the wifi card choose properties. From there it's just like a LAN NIC, choose Internet Protocol TCP/IP, properties, change obtain IP address to use the following filling in a valid unused IP address for your lan. If that does not work I would disable all WPA/WEP any filtering of clients long enough to establish if the wifi adapter works at all. Another avenue would be a Linux live CD or parallel windows install to test. Winterlight wrote: How do I do that to the adaptor with a wireless? Re: [H] Windows 7 Radeon driver woes
Total non-sequiter but try lowering your 3d resolution to 1024x768 and see if that helps. Was getting crazy crashes under XP w/ 9.x drivers and 3870x2 card, problems stopped when I stopped trying to do 1280x1024. Stan Zaske wrote: Is anybody running Windows 7 RC1 with a Radeon 4000 series video card? I'm using 9.4 currently but 3D apps and games will crash the driver forcing it to reset. I've tried the WHQL driver released by Microsoft last month and 9.5 and both are even more flaky than 9.4. I was wondering if anybody had a similar experience and hopefully when 9.6 comes out next week things will improve. Anybody having any problems with Nvidia drivers?

Re: [H] [Bulk] Re: Windows 7 Radeon driver woes
Thanks for the suggestion but I solved my problems by going back to the original driver that comes with RC1. Still doesn't make sense to me that the subsequent driver releases are so buggy. I'll see what happens when 9.6 comes out but the original is problem free. Go figure! maccrawj wrote: Total non-sequiter but try lowering your 3d resolution to 1024x768 and see if that helps.
