[H] What the heck is up with Jim?

2013-03-24 Thread Jim Edwards
To try to sum it up without writing a boring book

I was unhappy in my marriage and thus, life. I was doing time on planet
earth building a prison of the self via mmo's, reading, what ever. As
long as it past the time and kept me content in a depressive state of
existence.

Coming home from work on the bike one day, (2010) I come across this
douchebag (wow, spellchecker for a hundred!) pushing with his truck
through traffic because he just wrecked 2 other cars. Light changed, I
followed until he caught up to a cop in front. I got up to the cop car to
tell the cop to pull the dude over. He didn't like that and ran me down
with his truck. Could have died, didn't die. With no helmet, I kinda got
real lucky. Turns out he was a parole officer high on who knows what but
being part of the justice system, he got 60 days... I did make sure the
fucker bought me a new bike. (pardon my potty mouth)

The Jim that pushed himself off the ground was not the same one that flew
off the bike. I knew this immediately. No longer content with the current
state of affairs my then wife was not interested in change, could not
accept me making myself a priority. She tried to make the divorce as
painful as she could, she failed.

some recent photos

I am back 'home' trying to recover the house from foreclosure. Should be
doable. If so, the house is mine. I quit smoking soon after the bike wreck
and have been free from smoking for over 2 years now. So I am firmly on
the other side of divorce and property settlement. Still shuffling some
money to the lawyer but for the time being, got a good income, minuscule
alimony for a year, done.

Now being on the other side of all that stuff, I have joined a riding
group of 40 and 50 somethings that are done with the kids, etc. I am doing
some mild exercises and eating heather foods. I was born 13 lbs so I have
and will always be a 'big' guy but I'm working on moving the scale from
230 to 200. It's a mind, body and soul project. Not trying to become a
hippy but happy and healthy. And I'm doing it.

So how you guys doing?
Jim

Jim,
Good luck, best wishes, three cheers and all that. Keep putting one foot
in front of the other, and don't look back.

Hey Jim,
Dude, I'm sorry you had such a rough time, but I'm glad you
came through it stronger and better. Good to hear from you again, we
were all getting worried.

[H] Publisher - using a form to input data

2013-03-24 Thread Thane Sherrington
Some time ago I made a Word template that pops up a form and then
uses a find/replace to input the data from the form into the
document. I'm trying to do the same thing with Publisher because
it's easier to create the document in Publisher, but while I can
create the form, I can't get it to run as part of a macro when I load
the template. After a lot of googling, I'm coming up empty.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks,

T

Nice bike, Jim, also, looks like you've got all the power you need, for
anything :) I think others of us in this group have been exposed to
similar situations and can totally relate to you. I have, for one. Another
old pilot buddy, while I was going through it said your six is clear, just
turn your nose to the horizon and enjoy the sunrise.
