2013-04-07 Thread Steve Tomporowski
Thanks for the reply. It is ironic that if you get pirated
screensavers, the pirates remove the junkware. Basically all you can do
is go from site to site and see what each one tries to install. Not
really worth the free software!

CNET has went from good to total BS, I went there a few years back for
the first time, in a long time, and noticed the wrapper. I left & never
went back. If it's not warez (reputable) or bought, I just have a hard
time trusting it. Anyway, GL!

My friend's wife is looking for a 'cute' screensaver and luckily she
emails me first before she downloads. I have never seen so much crap
bundled with free software in my life. When I go for freeware, I go to
Gizmo, however, I never realized how bad the rest of the net is. I
downloaded a screensaver from CNET and from one download, I got
Whitesmoke, Conduit and Strongvault. That doesn't count the stuff I
unclicked.

Well, the real question is, is there a safe place I can send her to look
at screensavers, one that will give her a screensaver and not a ton of
unwanted junk? Gizmo really doesn't do screensavers and right now I'm
not going to send her to CNET.

Thanks...Steve
