Re: [H] Printer recommendation

2013-12-17 Thread FORC5
I second the laser vote. Went with a Brother color laser last year.
Photos are not as nice but with some tweaking not terrible.
consumables are high but WTF. They don't dry out I have two ink jets
on the system, one for cd printing and one for photos. I try to run
them every once in a while to keep the jets clear.
Prior to that was always HP inkjets that lasted usually 3 years
before replacement.

I really like my Brother 5370DW laser printer. Yes B&W only. I
started with a Brother 2070N and upgraded.
I know the supplies are a rip, but they have to make money somehow!
All in all, I'd buy another Brother in a
heartbeat. I believe JRS uses the color modelto my B&W and he shares
good things about his. I gave up on

inkjets years ago.

My Epson Workforce printer is giving up the ghost. I'm pissed

black and 3 color) runs empty, then this printer won't print at

though nearly an entire set of cartridges without printing a single
word or pattern, just by cleaning the heads.

Anyone got a decent printer recommendation? Frankly, it seems like
printers have gone the way of the dodoit seems you get ripped
on ink and get shoddy hardware to nearly nothing. I don't print a
lot, though, so my needs are not great, but I do need to
print. I'm working on a report right now and having a printed copy
would be nice, but I can't even get a decent printed copy.

Thanks.

I have a machine that dual boots Win7 and Vista. I moved and added
some hard drives and I need to change the path to Vista in the boot

A: Delete Vista and never speak of it again.

I say this as a one-time defender of the visceral Vista hatred.

I too have one of those with broken autofeeder, not even worth paying to fix it
:( I've looked for a good
laser printer, they are all either too expensive or have crap reviews. Hell
even the higher end Hps have
bad reviews :(
