I switched all my domain registrations to NameSilo (from GoDaddy) which has been really good.
Hosting-wise I feel like things have changed a ton in recent years, but I've been using Pair.com for many years and am extremely happy with their service and support. IF I were starting from scratch today I might look at MS Azure or some other virtualized offering.
