I just put together a new system (P6T6 WS Revolution) that has an SAS interface as well as SATA II. I setup the boot array on a pair of 15000rpm Fujitsu SAS drives in RAID0. HD Tune gives a transfer rate of about 171 MB/sec. The single WD Black 1TB drives benchmark at 87 MB/sec in IDE mode.
Looking into a hardware RAID solution seems to show that few support Vista as the OS. The transfer speeds seem substantially greater than the on-board software RAID. Why these limitations? Thanks, Jim Maki jwm_maill...@comcast.net
