Re: [H] Phone confusion
I was just surprised on how loud the ring is at full volume. I could sleep thru my old phones but not this one. -Original Message- From: hardware-boun...@hardwaregroup.com [mailto:hardware- boun...@hardwaregroup.com] On Behalf Of DSinc Sent: Thursday, November 19, 2009 6:47 PM To: hardware@hardwaregroup.com Subject: Re: [H] Phone confusion Gary, Can you explain ring volume? Re: [H] Phone confusion
Gary, LOL! Oh, now I get it! I can accept this. The last two 5.8GHz phones I've used have these wimpy, and, really strange(?) ringer sound selections I am so used to the ringer quality of an old-time pay-phone booth! I knowso old-school! LOL! Bending toward a DECT 6.0 choice now. Best, Duncan Gary wrote: I was just surprised on how loud the ring is at full volume. Re: [H] Phone confusion
The question really comes down to output power. I don't know what power levels the 1.9GHz phones operate at to know if they really are superior or not. Given equal power, there's no doubt that they'll do better than a 5.8GHz phone. I always felt that old school 900MHz phones did better than the 2.4GHz phones that replaced them. I haven't had a land line in some time. I carry both a personal HTC Windows Mobile smartphone on Sprint's network and a work-provided iPhone 3G on ATT's network. -Original Message- From: hardware-boun...@hardwaregroup.com [mailto:hardware-boun...@hardwaregroup.com] On Behalf Of DSinc Sent: Thursday, November 19, 2009 4:17 PM To: hardware@hardwaregroup.com Subject: Re: [H] Phone confusion Greg, Ah! Greg, No harm, no foul! LOL! Was not trying to pin you into the wall here. Phones have gone thru a huge leap in technology. Yes, I still live with the old 2-wire Dial-Tone from TPC (ATT). I will read up a bit more on this business! Thank you. Best, Duncan Greg Sevart wrote: The question really comes down to output power.
