[Hasafran] Teaching Jewish Values

At the AJL Convention in Toronto (2003), I presented a session along with 
my co-authors, Donna Robins and Myrna Ross re. teaching Jewish values 
through literature in the supplementary Jewish school (Kindergarten to 3rd 
grade). At the time,  I offered to send you a CD of the curriculum unit 
after the revisions were made. Finally, I can reiterate my offer. The 
curriculum is now ready for distribution. You will see in the introduction 
that we're happy if you use these lessons, as long as you give us credit as 
authors.
Furthermore, these lessons can be adapted for day schools as a source of 
enrichment for your students.
If you'd like a CD, please reply to this e-mail by Dec. 20/04 along with 
your name and mailing address. If you're planning to attend AJL mid-winter 
meetings, I can bring a CD for you if you let me know in advance.
To cover costs, please send a money order or cheque in the amount of $4.

[ha-Safran]: Jewish family from Detroit

I'm researching a Jewish family that lived in Detroit circa 1900-1930 and 
have located brief references to specific pages in the Jewish Community 
Blue Book of Detroit. I'm trying to find someone who can copy the relevant 
pages for me or tell me how to obtain a copy of the book.

Shalom Librarians,

I have been asked to explore the options of maintaining a photo gallery / 
archive in my library and I would appreciate input from colleagues of 
similar-sized libraries like mine:

Details of my library:
Stock: 4000 items including books, audio/visual materials, newspaper / 
journal articles
Staff: one full-time
Physical size: small and overflowing

If you have a similar photo gallery / archive, please share your experience 
with me as

1.how you do it (keeping the physical items or in digital form);
2.how detailed you catalogue them
3.hardware / software involved
4.how much you spend on the project
5.size of the photo collection

and any consideration you think necessary before starting such a project.
