[ha-Safran] : Cataloging

2004-06-14 Thread Miriam Abramson
We are a beit midrash/library with a comprehensive collection of Rishonim
and Acharonim. I'd like any suggestions as to how to organize them on the
shelves (chronologically, country, author?) Also I would like to know if
the Elazar classification system would be appropriate.

Thank you

[ha-Safran]: Bar codes

2004-10-13 Thread Miriam Abramson
Smart barcodes vs. dumb barcodes. What are the arguments for either
side? Please keep in mind that our collection is not as yet cataloged.

Looking forward to your input

[ha-Safran]: Judaica materials for the visually impaired

2004-10-13 Thread Miriam Abramson
We have several students at Drisha Institute For Jewish Education who are
visually impaired. Aside from Prayer Books and the Bible, are there any
other materials available in Braille? We're interested in dictionaries,
Aramaic lexicons, and other reference materials, as well as Talmud study.

I would appreciate any ideas or information you can give me.

Thanks
Miriam
