Re: [ha-Safran]: AJLN Index

2010-09-21 Thread Sara Rofofsky Marcus
Unfortunately some family and personal issues took over, but I am
back on track and am working on it again. The materials are
generally filled with all the information, but there are times I'm
having to look for missing bibliographic information; and the sheer
number of reviews per issue is overwhelming. I have copies of all
issues in my ownership right now, and I am entering the data. Then I
need to check for duplicates because I've entered some twice, and
then do some proofreading.

[ha-Safran]: Judaic Collection Development

2010-07-26 Thread Sara Rofofsky Marcus
Safranim,

I have been approached by our local public library to provide a list
of suggested Judaic / Hebrew titles for their collection. This is an
amazing outreach from the library and one I would like to
encourage. The current collection has basically nothing (well, maybe
Diary of Anne Frank, but that's about it). Both current and classic
titles are welcomed, for all age levels.

I have not been given a budget - just asked to make a list. I am
planning on using Merilly Hart's book, but that is 2008 so if
anything more recent has come out that might be worthwhile, I'd
appreciate tips and suggestions.

The community is a range of all observance levels, and all interests.

Please respond off-list. If there is an interest, I will post a summary.

Sara

Re: [ha-Safran]: Index to reviews

2010-02-24 Thread Sara Rofofsky Marcus
Bernice,
There are two currently in print: from 1978-1990 and from
1990-1995. I am currently working on an index from 1978 to the
present, with hopes of it becoming available within the next year,
format to be determined by AJL.

Re: [ha-Safran]: Women in the Bible

2004-01-28 Thread Sara Rofofsky Marcus
Rivka,

Thank you so much for this information. I will pass it along
to my patron.

As well, thank you to everyone else who has suggested books.

However, I believe the patron is going to ask for more
original sources, as they are using this for a paper.

Thank you again to everyone who has helped.

Re: [ha-Safran]: Women in the Bible

2004-01-27 Thread Sara Rofofsky Marcus
Safranim,

I am searching for a patron who is seeking information, in
English, regarding the conjugal (sexual) obligations of
married men and women. The patron remembers reading
somewhere about how different occupations allow a man to
travel for different lengths of time, but this is all the
information I have been given.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.
