The Association of Jewish Libraries is seeking a consultant who can 
help on a part time basis with administrative and web 2.0 tasks.

Some sample duties would be:
1. Create an AJL presence on appropriate social networking sites such 
as Twittter, LinkedIn,
Shmooze, LibraryThing, SecondLife.
2. Establish a mechanism for the ongoing maintenance of these sites.
3. Work with a professional web design service to enhance the AJL website.
4. Advise officers and committee chairs on the creation and 
maintenance of Judaica information
services and resources that demonstrate AJL's knowledge and leadership.
5. Advise the president on the creation of a system for responding 
quickly and effectively to
relevant issues raised on AJL's listserv and in other online and print media.
6. Implement plans to promote AJL in additional ways. Some examples 
are: creating AJL-sponsored exhibits, either actual traveling 
exhibits or virtual exhibits; establishing a supportive
administrator's award to strengthen contacts between AJL and the 
Jewish community.
7. Investigate external resources and the use of already established 
AJL committees to maintain
these activities on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications:
--College degree, preferably with graduate MLS degree or 
business-related degree
--Extensive knowledge of and experience with libraries
--Familiarity and skill with relevant computer applications and Web 
2.0 technologies
--Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills
