Dear Safranim, I would like to announce the formation of the Judaica SACO Funnel Project. This project has been established to facilitate greater contribution of subject headings relating to Jewish Studies and Hebraica for inclusion in Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH).
This funnel project will provide a framework for proposing new subject headings and LC class numbers required for cataloging, as well as needed revisions to existing headings and numbers. Participants should have a basic familiarity with the procedures and guidelines found in the Subject Cataloging Manual: Subject Headings (SCM H), LCSH, Free-Floating Subdivisions: An Alphabetical Index, Subject Cataloging Manual: Classification (SCM F), LC Classification, the MARC 21 Authority Format, and standard reference sources.
