Re: [ha-Safran]: Looking for a certain tale
I have this wonderful book for the little ones in my library. Here is a suggestion. Recently I have had great luck finding books that I want on the out of print sites like Abebooks and Alibris. Ill bet there are a few available somewhere. You might not get it in time for this year but then you would have it in your collection. If you find it, let us all know! Another story children's librarians might want to know about is Sorry by Jean Van Leeuwen. It is not a Jewish book, but the story is perfect for the season. Unfortunately, it is out of print, but school and synagogue librarians may be able to borrow a copy from the local public library for teachers to use this month. [ha-Safran]: Looking for a certain tale
... about two quarreling towns, separated by a wall. Two children see each other through a crack, and eventually take down the wall, stone by stone. There is also a mingling of music/melodies as part of the story. The closest I could find to this is Sandy Sasso's God Said Amen, and she doesn't really credit a source story that sounds like the one I described. Does anyone know the story I'm seeking?
