The Eybeshitz Hagaddah: Experiencing Redemption

First Ever English Translation of Work of Scholar Rav Yehonatan Eybeshitz

"This is a book not only for the Seder table ….but for study and
perusal all the days of the year. The difficult is made
understandable and the obtuse is clarified in this work. I highly
recommend it." Rabbi Berel Wein

"…[this] translation is a marked contribution to Agadic-Hagadic
literature." Rabbi Dovid Cohen

This Passover readers will be pleased to find that in the new
Eybeshitz Hagaddah (Devora Publishing, March 2008), Rabbi Yehonatan
Eybeshitz's unique works and his complex words of Torah are arranged
in an organized fashion, making them accessible and understandable.
Author Rabbi Shalom Hammer also includes his own additional, timely
and insightful commentaries that reveal new insights to share around
the Seder table while inviting the reader to "experience the
redemption" of Passover.

Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeshitz was known for his brilliance and
outstanding genius in Torah as well as his worldly knowledge in
science and philosophy. This was exhibited as he led the Jewish
community of Hamburg in the eighteenth century and debated religious
and philosophical issues with Christian theologians of his time. Rav
Yehonatan was a prolific writer and master teacher and this is the
first time that his works have been translated into English. Rav
Yehonatan was also a master Kabbalist and subject of much debate as
is any genius of a generation. The posthumous printing of so many of
his works is testimony to the profound influence his oral teachings
and character had on his contemporaries.

Readers will delve into the Torah thoughts of Rav Eybeshitz and
appreciate this master's ability to intertwine all disciplines of
Torah study and connect them in an understandable fashion. This
translation will benefit those who have a strong background in Torah
learning as well as those who are looking for refreshing and
innovative thoughts to share at the Pesach Seder. Readers will
experience redemption in a unique and personal way through the
teachings of one the greatest minds the Jewish people have ever known!
