I have never heard about this either. I suppose someone from AJL should
look into it. Marion Stein

[ha-Safran]: School libraries in Israel

2005-01-25 Thread Esther Nussbaum
A fund-raising insert entitled "Support School Libraries in Israel" came
to my home in last week's issue of Jewish Week. It solicits funds for
book acquisition for school libraries. According to the brochure "For
the last thirteen years, the Center for Educational Technology (CET) has
been engaged in a national program, sponsored by private funders,
dedicated to building library facilities at elementary and high schools
in Israel", etc. etc.

I hate to admit it, but this is the first I have heard about it.

Would anyone care to comment on this and whether AJL should or could be
involved in some way?

Please respond to the listserv.

Esther Nussbaum
