Serials Librarian
The Library of the Jewish Theological Seminary seeks an innovative and energetic librarian to serve as the Serials Librarian for the print, electronic and microform collections. This position reports to the Administrative Librarian for Technical Services. Duties and responsibilities: This is a full-time position working in the Technical Services Department of the Library. Responsibilities include manage, selection and acquisition of new serials, providing access to and maintaining fiscal accounting for serials in all formats and multiple languages. Original and copy cataloging in OCLC, RLIN21 and ExLibris ALEPH500. Initiate collection development of electronic journals. Lead special projects related to the serials collection. Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS is required. Proficiency in AACR2, LCSH, MARC21 and other metadata schemas; experience with ExLibris ALEPH500 preferred. Knowledge of Hebrew; working knowledge of European languages desired. Excellent detailed organizational skills, interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication.
