RE: [ha-Safran]: Cookbook result
There's a wonderful community cookbook entitled "Divine Kosher Cuisine" (www.divinekosher.com) put out by Congregation Agudat Achim in Niskayuna, NY. As opposed to many cookbooks issued by synagogues, the people in charge of this one are professional caterers, As You Like It Kosher Catering. Consequently, the cookbook was a regional winner, in 2006, of the Tabasco Community Cookbook Award. Another excellent title is Arthur Schwartz's Jewish Home Cooking. It is extensively and beautifully illustrated and gives lots of background information on the foods it describes, with emphasis on Eastern European dishes. I was fascinated and became very nostalgic, hungry, and motivated to cook as I read through the recipes from cover to cover. Debbie Stern, Library Director Mordecai M.
