[ha-Safran] Catalog of Aleppo manuscripts

2011-12-13 Thread Nachum Zitter
Safranim-
A number of libraries have shown interest in purchasing a number of the
National Library's recent catalogs, such as the Aleppo Codices (displayed on
the website
http://web.nli.org.il/sites/NLI/Hebrew/gallery/jewish/Pages/Aleppo-Damascus.aspx).
Please direct all inquiries to Mrs. Riki Weinberg (accounting) by email
riki.weinb...@nli.org.ilmailto:riki.weinb...@nli.org.il or by phone,
972-2-6586751. Purchases can be made by credit card of (for the locals) cash.
I hope this clears up the matter.

Re: [ha-Safran] cataloging Sholem Aleichem

2011-12-13 Thread Congress for Jewish Culture
If you're going to use the pseudonym, it really needs to be under
Sholom. To put it under Aleichem would be like referencing Doody,
Howdy. Sholom-aleichem (or Sholem-aleykhem) is a fixed phrase, not a
first and last name.

Dear Hasafranim,

I'm finally re-cataloging the adult fiction, and I've run into the
Sholem Aleichem conundrum. For last name, some places use Aleichem,
others Sholom and still others his true name, Rabinovich. The
pseudonym makes the most sense for our collection, but which part?
What have others done?
