[ha-Safran] Compilation of Digital Jewish Studies resources?

2013-11-25 Thread Michelle Chesner
Is there any website that compiles resources in Jewish Studies in a dynamic
fashion, which allows people to add, edit, tag, and search resources?

Is there any such resource for digital resources in any field?

Thanks,
Michelle

[ha-Safran] The Rabbi and the Nuns - New title from Rabbi Abraham Twerski

2013-11-25 Thread Stuart Schnee
We are pleased to inform you of the new title The Rabbis and the Nuns (Mekor
Press, imprint of Menucha Publishers).

This book is available by calling 1-855-Menucha, at
www.menuchapublishers.com and through
Baker & Taylor.

The Rabbi and the Nuns

The Inside Story of a Rabbi's Therapeutic Work with the

Sisters of St. Francis

What happens when an Orthodox Chassidic Rabbi becomes director of psychiatry
at a Catholic hospital, treating nuns who have problems

adjusting to the Vatican II reforms?

The Rabbi and the Nuns chronicles the highlights of a twenty-year working
relationship between Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski and the nuns and priests
of the Pittsburgh Diocese and St. Francis Hospital. Spearheading a
groundbreaking rehab program, Rabbi Twerski and the nuns develop a working
connection that transcends their religious differences, forges mutual
respect, and brings them to a whole new level in ecumenical relations.

Insightful, inspiring, and humorous at times, Rabbi Twerski's personal
account is frank and engrossing. Readers are given a rare glimpse into the
inner world of spiritual leaders as they grapple with their personal
struggles to adjust to today's tumultuous times.

About the Author

Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski served for twenty years as the director of the
department of psychiatry at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. He is the founder and Medical Director Emeritus of The Gateway
Rehabilitation Center, a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of
substance-abuse addiction with a network of more than 20 inpatient and
outpatient facilities in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He is the author of more
than sixty books and has been featured in hundreds of magazines and
newspapers. Rabbi Twerski is the scion of great Chassidic dynasties and
traces his ancestry back to the Baal Shem Tov, founder of the Chassidic
movement. He has lectured extensively on chemical dependency and other
topics such as stress, self-esteem, and spirituality, and has traveled the
world as a spokesman for recovery on behalf of the millions who have
achieved it, inspiring and encouraging those still finding their way.
