Attached please find the press release for our forthcoming auction of Fine 
Judaica featuring selections from the Collection of the late Dr. Alfred 
Moldovan. The November 13th auction includes an extensive selection of Printed 
Books, Manuscripts, Autograph Letters, Ceremonial Objects and Graphic Art. 

Among the many standout lots, highlights include:
  a.. A Torah Scroll presented to Czar Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia by the 
Jewish Community of Penza, Russia, 1904, estimate $30,000-40,000 (Lot 322)
  b.. An original Swedish Protective Passport issued by the heroic diplomat 
Raoul Wllenberg in 1944, a priceless ticket of life for a Jew otherwised 
destined to a certain death in Nazi occupied Hungary. Estimate $7,000-10,000 
(Lot 282)
  c.. An exceptionally important Hebrew Bible manuscript from Bukhara, second 
half of the 15th century, estimated at $60,000-80,000 (Lot 279)

[ha-Safran] Bibliography Bank

Dear Colleagues,

Now that our new website is up and running I would like to introduce myself
as the new bibliography bank chair and invite you to create some new
bibliographies. The AJL survey indicated that you use the bibliographies
for help in building your collections or to find books for your patrons or
yourselves. Many of the  ones that were transferred to the new website
contained older or out of date entries. Please take some time out of your
busy days to refresh the site with new lists or to update older ones with
current books to recommend.   My name and email address have been added to
the instructions.

Let's pump some new energy into this service!  I look forward to hearing
from you.
