[ha-Safran] Judaica Librarianship Certification Courses at JTS

I just read about this this morning from a JTS email so I thought I
would pass it along.

Judaica Librarianship Certification

JTS and the Association of Jewish Libraries are pleased to announce a
new certification program for Judaic studies librarians in Research,
Archives, and Special Collections libraries.

HOW IT WORKS

The certificate will be offered online as a 12-month series of seven
modules, repeated in three cycles, consisting of remote online
courses, taught by world experts in their fields.

DETAILS

Four required courses
Four electives available
A la carte courses
$350 per course
$50 application fee
Scholarships
Starts spring 2023

[ha-Safran] documentation on cataloging manuscripts in non-Latn scripts

Dear safranim,

I have been asked to discuss cataloging practices and guidelines for 
manuscripts and manuscript codices in non-Latin scripts. I have not been able 
to locate online any such documentation that is dedicated specifically to 
non-print, unique items that are handwritten.

I am most eager to learn if any of you are familiar with such a resource(s). 
These can be either internal documentation or a standard that has been 
developed that serves a similar function to the PCC Guidelines for Creating 
Bibliographic Records in Multiple Character Sets.

I have exactly the list you were asking for, Jodi. These are kids' books
that are not about the Holocaust that mention antisemitism (it may be a
major theme or just a brief mention).

Kalaniot Books published THE RABBI AND THE PAINTER by Shoshana Weiss with 
illustrations by Jennifer Kirkham. 

Based on stories handed down from the past, this is the tale of a unique 
relationship between the 16th Century Venetian painter Tintoretto and Rabbi 
Leon Modena also known as Yahuda Araya. Both men push at the boundaries of 
convention. Tintoretto breaks all the artistic rules of the Renaissance with 
his mannerist painting style while Rabbi Modena’s interests extend far beyond 
the typical confines of the ghetto’s synagogue life to the secular world around 
him. In The Rabbi and the Painter we are transported to a place where cultures 
mix to create breathtaking masterpieces.   

While the book doesn’t address antisemitism directly in the narrative, it does 
explore life for Jews in Renaissance Venice. Concepts of the ghetto and 
enforced Jewish identification markings are displayed in the art and explained 
in the author’s note. There is also a free downloadable activity guide with 
discussion questions that touch on this as well.

I am having a difficult time finding a list of children's and young adult books 
that have experiences or depictions of antisemitism that are not directly 
connected to the holocaust.
The Christmas Menorahs is one, I am hoping for a range.  They don't have to be 
ABOUT antisemitism, but include it as something teachers or librarians can 
point to for discussion.
Anyone have any lists or even just titles?
