[ha-Safran] Jewish Genealogy Reference Books

Dear Judaica Librarians:

I am the Library Liaison for the International Association of Jewish
Genealogy Societies or IAJGS for short.  I am going to create a
comprehensive list of reference books in Jewish Genealogy and add it
to the Library section of the IAJGS website.  Do you know of any good
lists to start with?  I can add on from there.  I am not including
how-to books or Yizkor Books.  Yizkor books are already in a database
on JewishGen.  This is a long term project so no need to rush.

[ha-Safran] Call for Papers for the Undergraduate Judaic Studies Conference

Shalom,

I am posting the following on behalf of the University of Chicago's
Undergraduate Judaic Studies Conference. Please respond directly to them.

We are excited to announce that The University of Chicago will host the
eighth annual Undergraduate Judaic Studies Conference on Sunday, March 26.
(date still tentative)

The conference will gather together accomplished undergraduate students to
present and discuss papers on topics in Judaic Studies. The conference aims
to foster intercollegiate conversations among undergraduates pursuing
research in Judaic Studies, as well as to provide undergraduates with the
opportunity to present their research and receive feedback from peers. The
capstone event of the day will be a keynote lecture by an established
scholar of Judaic Studies, whose name will be announced shortly.

We invite you to submit your work for review! Submit your work as a PDF to
jewishstudiesc...@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is Sunday,
February 5th. You will be invited to present your research at the
conference if selected.
