[ha-Safran] New issue of Adult Education in Israel

2017-06-13 Thread Bassok
Dear Ms. / Mr.

Please forward this announcement to your subscribers.

Respectfully,

Dr. Ido Bassok

Dear readers,

The 15th issue of Adult Education in Israel is now available.

This issue includes papers on the influence of parent education (Rina
Cohen), vocational education (Ella Barzilai and Ayelet Uriel-Raymond), and
academic studies (Prof. Nitza Davidovitch) upon entrance to the work force.
There is also a singular paper by Moshe Sheinfeld on the ultra-orthodox
sector in higher education. In addition, this issue includes papers on how
Israeli-Arab students cope with Hebrew as the first language of Israel (Dr.
Orly Kayam) and distinctive papers by Prof. Esther Sheli-Neuman on the "The
Campaign to Eradicate Ignorance" from a current perspective - based on
interviews with female soldier-teachers who participated in the program 50
years ago - and by Dr. Rachel Tokatli on the continuation of this campaign
within the framework of the Tehil"a program. The journal also commemorates
the 50th anniversary of the death of Mordechai Martin Buber in a paper by
Prof. Tamar Kron, who notes the significance of dialogue within the field of
adult education from the viewpoint of a psychologist and therapist, and in
an article by Prof. Ron Margolin, who delineates the important educational
implication of the genre of Judaism proposed by Buber. We believe our
readers will also enjoy the gripping interview with Prof. Dan Avnon about
Buber's pioneering activity as an adult educator, both in Germany and in
Israel. Moreover, various enterprises within the field of adult education
are reviewed, including the international Competencies Survey in Israel (Zvi
Amir); the promotion of education for the Bedouin sector in Israel's
southern Negev region (the editor); and the advancement of parents with
minimal education (by researchers in the National Authority for Evaluation).

The closing paper in this journal is an overview of the achievements of
adult education in Israel by Dr. Rachel Tokatli .

We hope you enjoy and are enriched by this issue of Adult Education in
Israel.

Dr. Ido Basok, Editor

[ha-Safran] ONLINE PUBLICATION OF EDUCATIONAL JOURNAL

2015-10-30 Thread Bassok

Adult Education, 14

A new issue of the online periodical Adult Education in Israel – no# 14 –
has recently been uploaded. The primary problem addressed in this issue is
how to educate and prepare populations which for cultural, political and
other reasons, make only a limited contribution to the economy, to enter the
job-market. The journal focus is on the ultra-Orthodox Jewish sector
(especially males), and the Arab and Bedouin sectors, with an emphasis on
women. Another, related problem raised is that of workplace inclusion for
the so-called "elderly" – people who are past the customary working age but
whose skills and abilities are of potentially great value to the economy.

[ha-Safran] ADULT EDUCATION IN ISRAEL

2014-02-20 Thread Bassok
Dear Reader,

I am honored to send you a link to the latest volume of Adult Education in
Israel. The recently published volume 13 includes two main themes: "Adult
education in Israel and around the world" and "Digital technologies and
adult education: the challenge".

We continue our custom from previous volumes of Adult Education in Israel
and focus primarily on the Israeli perspective and experience of issues.

In addition, we have included several unpublished articles written by
Israeli researchers.

It is our hope that you find our publication informative and enjoyable.

We look forward to hearing your comments.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ido Bassok

Editor-in chief
