Re: [ha-Safran] Rachel Kamin Named Fanny Goldstein Merit Award Winner

2021-04-23 Thread Debbie Colodny via Hasafran
Rachel has inspired me, taught me, mentored me, and been my cherished friend
for the past 15 or more years. Our congregation is one of the lucky 5 to have
Rachel leading our book club discussions. I can’t think of a more deserving
recipient of this important award. Mazal tov! Kol hakavod! Debbie Colodny

[ha-Safran] Fwd: AJL 2020 Conference Update: March 25, 2020

2020-03-27 Thread Debbie Colodny via Hasafran
I join the many people thanking Rachel, Marcie, and the AJL leadership for
their hard work. I’d like to add my thanks from a different point of view – as
a member of the Chicago committee, I was privileged to observe Rachel and
Marcie do such a great job and work so hard, if for only half a year. We had
only one meeting and exchanged many emails before they were forced to reach the
difficult, but absolutely correct decision to cancel the conference. During
that brief time, if I took a step back, it was like watching an expert podcast
on running a meeting, pulling together a huge project. They were/are so well
organized and made it look so easy to help each of us find our strengths and
interests to take on a small piece of conference planning. I learned so much
simply by watching them. I look forward to the future, whatever it brings, and
hope that we can bring our planning to fruition in another year or two or more,
hopefully with Rachel’s and Marcie’s outstanding leadership.

Re: [ha-Safran] who wants this book??

2019-08-09 Thread Debbie Colodny via Hasafran
It never occurred to me to ask if anyone in our Hasafran group could help fill
my collection! I have all AKF books in original or very old editions, with the
exception of ELLA AKF. If anyone can help, I’ll be interested in purchasing,
of course dependent on the condition of the book. Thanks, Amy, for giving me
the idea I should have had long ago. Debbie Colodny
