[ha-Safran] need suggestions
Looking for some help. I recently acquired a box of old magazines; Life, Look Israel, Israel Magazine, The Weekly Standard, Newsweek... just to name a few. Most of them are dated 1960-1970s. Many of them highlight historic events in the U.S. and in Israel. They are all in excellent condition. Any ideas on what to do with them? Thank you for your recommendations. [ha-Safran] Question regarding job tasks
To all Librarians, I am fairly new to my position, one year, working at a JCC library with about 2600 items in our collection. We have about 500 patrons that use the library in a one month period. Patrons do not pay to use the library, membership is free to JCC users. As the new year approaches I am being asked to do more fundraising for operational costs. I currently fundraise with book sales, bookplates, raffle baskets and charge late fees to help generate revenue. I am being asked to do more than what I am currently doing since funds are limited. Are other librarians expected to raise funds for their operational expenses? If so, what programs work to help raise funds? Am I justified in believing that this should not be part of my role as a librarian?
