[ha-Safran] Picture Books on Israel for 5th graders
Every three weeks the fifth grade classes come to the library for stories during Sunday Program. Their curriculum for the year is Israel. One class does the history. I read them the Kar-Ben picture book on Golda Meir and The Language of Angels which both worked well. But the other fifth grade teacher would like stories about Israeli innovation, art, music or sports. Can anyone recommend a book to read in 15-20 min. for this age group? [ha-Safran] Scary Stories
Here are a few more scary stories I thought of. Eric Kimmel seems like the best author to tell these stories. 1. The Golem’s Latkes, by Eric A. Kimmel, Aaron Jasinski (ills.) 2. Hayyim’s Ghost, by Eric A. Kimmel, Ari Binus (ills.) 3. Terrible Things: An Allegory of the Holocaust, by Eve Bunting, Stephen Gammell (ills.) 4.
