[ha-Safran] Resources on Israeli innovations/inventions for Grade 5

2024-10-07 Thread Janice LAST_NAME via Hasafran
Hi! We are looking for online resources as well as any print resources for 5th
graders to learn about the many Israeli inventions and innovations, as well as
to learn about Israeli Nobel Peace prize winners. What websites with info on
Israel do people recommend that are accessible to 5th graders-10 year olds?
Thanks for your help.

Shanah tovah-it was a bittersweet holiday, with all that is going on in Israel.

[ha-Safran] [Hasafran] Children's books for Elul/High Holidays for Grades 4 and up

2024-09-09 Thread Janice LAST_NAME via Hasafran
Hi! I am looking for children's books to read with Grades 4 or 5 during Elul to
get ready for the high holidays-books on reflection, forgiveness, repentance or
other high holiday themes. I have a lot for the younger kids, but not sure what
to use with the older ones. Only one I could come up with is Gershon's Monster.
Thanks!

[ha-Safran] Short 4th Grade Activity to Choose a book to Check out

2022-12-11 Thread Janice LAST_NAME via Hasafran
Hi! I am meeting with our Religious School 4th graders this Tuesday afternoon
so they can select a book to hopefully check out for Jewish Book Month. I have
about a half an hour. Rather than just me standing up front and doing a book
chat, I am trying to think up an activity where they can choose a book out on
display, spend 5-10 minutes browsing through the book, and then share their
observations with the group on whether they might like to check it out. Has
anyone done any kind of activity like this and suggestions on how to make it
work? Thanks!

[ha-Safran] Good Jewish Websites for children and adults

2020-03-24 Thread Janice LAST_NAME via Hasafran
Hi! I have been asked by my synagogue to recommend books, websites, etc. for
people to access while many are at home with their families during this time.

Can people recommend good free Jewish websites, especially for children, that
will provide stories, possibly games, etc. that I can pass along to my
conservative congregation? If you know of any good ones for adults where one
can get access to free Jewish books to read that would be great too. Thanks!
