[ha-Safran] Fall Conference-Assn. of Jewish Libraries, New York Metropolitan Area Chapter (Update)

The 2012 Fall Conference of The New York Metropolitan Area Chapter of the 
Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL-NYMA) will be devoted to the topic of 
"Synagogue Archives From Various Viewpoints." Synagogue archives will be 
discussed from different perspectives - the creation of a synagogue archive, 
the digitization of synagogue archives and the place of synagogue archival 
material within a university archive.

DATE: Thursday, December 6th, 9 am-12 pm

LOCATION: Temple Emanu-El, One East 65th Street, New York, NY 10065

PROGRAM:

"155 Years in the Making: Establishing an Archive For Congregation Talmud Torah 
Adereth El" - Katie Ehrlich, Project Archivist, American Sephardi Federation

"Early New York Synagogue Archives: A Digitization Project" - Susan Malbin, 
Director of Library and Archives, American Jewish Historical Society; Naomi 
Steinberger, Director of Library Services, The Library of The Jewish 
Theological Seminary

"Place of Gathering: Synagogue Archives" - Shulamith Z. Berger, Curator of 
Special Collections, Mendel Gottesman Library, Yeshiva University
