[ha-Safran] New haggadah for families with young kids
Hi all, I'm writing to recommend a new book by an author local to me in Ann Arbor. I think it is beautiful and quite well done. In *Haggadah Regatta*, two kids and a crew of shoes sail the Haggadah Regatta under a Matzah Ball Moon. Everyone on the little matzah raft gets into the act in this playful Passover Haggadah. The seder will engage even the youngest members of the tribe. There are goat tracks to follow and wine drops to plink. The read-aloud gathers steam as the crew asks again-and-again, “Who is?” Readers take turns, telling “how” and “why”. A Phonetics User Guide helps say the words in Hebrew. https://carollevin.us/haggadah-regatta/ -- Clare Kinberg, Temple Beth Emeth, Ann Arbor __ Messages and opinions expressed on Hasafran are those of the individual author and are not necessarily endorsed by the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL) == Submissions for Ha-Safran, send to: hasaf...@lists.service.ohio-state.edu To join Ha-Safran, update or change your subscription, etc. - click here: https://lists.service.ohio-state.edu/mailman/listinfo/hasafran Questions, problems, complaints, compliments send to: galro...@osu.edu Ha-Safran Archives: Current: http://www.mail-archive.com/hasafran%40lists.service.ohio-state.edu/maillist.html Earlier Listserver: http://www.mail-archive.com/hasafran%40lists.acs.ohio-state.edu/maillist.html AJL HomePage http://www.JewishLibraries.org -- Hasafran mailing list Hasafran@lists.osu.edu https://lists.osu.edu/mailman/listinfo/hasafran
Re: [ha-Safran] New haggadah for families with young kids
Thanks so much, Claire! If other safranim have recommendations of haggadot, particularly those published in the last five years, I would be appreciative if you'd let me (and maybe all of hasafran?) know, as I'm curating a recommended list for my congregation. BTW, I recently heard a term that maybe some of us would enjoy using: Book Concierge. Re: [ha-Safran] New haggadah for families with young kids
Hello all, I recently purchased a brand new haggadah called the Passover Haggadah the Graphic Novel by Jordan Gorfinkle. The "graphic novel" part is in fact the translation of the complete traditional text, illustrated in graphic novel style. People I have shown it to have been impressed. Re: [ha-Safran] New haggadah for families with young kids
My copy of the Passover Haggadah Graphic Novel has not yet arrived, but the author told me that the Had Gadya section is graphic and may not be suitable for very young children. So check that out. The pages I have seen of the Haggadah are very impressive. You can see the preview pages at https://www.korenpub.com/media/productattachments/files/n/n/nnew_lookinside_-_phgna.pdf Larry Yudelson Editorial Director Ben Yehuda Press On Tue, Feb 26, 2019 at 9:47 PM Shimon Vogel via Hasafran < hasafran@lists.osu.edu> wrote: > Hello all, > > I recently purchased a brand new haggadah called the Passover Haggadah the > Graphic Novel by Jordan Gorfinkle.
