Save the date, Monday, March 26th, 2012, for a regional workshop dealing with
rare books and archives collections in the Digital Age. The workshop will be
held at the Library of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (Broadway &
122nd Street, NYC) in the afternoon and is sponsored by the Metropolitan Area
Chapter of the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL-NYMA). Some of the topics
to be discussed by a panel of experts: As libraries embrace digital technology,
what challenges does this present in defining rare books/archives collections?
What do we currently include in rare books/archives collections, will the
criteria change and, if so, how will they change? What is the relationship
between rare books/archives collections and digital access to these treasures?
Further information about this workshop will follow so save the date and plan
to attend!
