card pocket,card (if you're using the latter two),
tell you when an item is overdue, creates reports

interface, which is why I chose it. If I had to do it again now, I think

You might want to investigate Tinycat<https://www.librarycat.org/>. Simple, 
inexpensive online catalog and circulation module for small libraries.

I haven’t used it myself, though. But it was created by the people at 
LibraryThing<https://www.librarything.com/>, which I like.
