I am very excited to announce the members of the 2023-24 Sydney Taylor Manuscript Award Committee. The candidates for the three open positions on the committee were outstanding. The committee is made up of the following:
Ilka Gordon, currently on leave; Heather Matthews, university professor; Stacy Nochowitz, librarian and author of the award winning The Prince of Steel Pier; Talya Sokoll, private school librarian and library activist; and Evan Wolkenstein, teacher and author of the award winning Turtle Boy. This is the most diverse committee in some time. I look forward to interesting discussions about the merits of the manuscripts. Manuscripts are due by the extended deadline of October 5.
