[ha-Safran] Books to give away

2024-03-05 Thread Rebecca Landau via Hasafran
I have the following books to give away. I have listed below or am I
supposed to send the books to a central place?

The books are as follows:

The case for Israel / Alan Dershowitz. Hoboken, N.J. : John Wiley & Sons,
c2003.

Chanukah - its history observance and significance published by Mesorah
Publications Ltd, 1981.

A History of Judaism ( in 2 volumes) by Daniel Jeremy Silver and Bernard
Martin. New York: York, Basic Books, 1974

The Jewish Marriage anthology by Philip and Herman Goodman.Philadelphia,
Jewish Publication Society, 1965.

The Jewish People, their history and their religion / David J Goldberg and
John H Rayner London, Penguin Books 1987.

I would prefer to give to one place and if someone wants to pay for postage
that would be great. I live in the Philadelphia area in case someone
locally wants

[ha-Safran] Books to give away

2018-12-11 Thread rhaus_com--- via Hasafran
Dear Hasafranim,
After having just conducted a wonderful booksale, I now must dispose of a few
hundred older books that rarely sell. Better World Books is an option, though I
will have to mail them to their distribution center in Indiana (there is no
longer a drop off bin in Kalamazoo and I don't have the time to drive 40 mi to
the nearest one).
Would anyone be interested in older books in all subjects? We would pay
shipping.

[ha-Safran] Books to give away - clarification

2017-09-26 Thread Henry Hollander
Dear Friends,
Thank you for the response to my message yesterday.
I do need to clarify, because I have been receiving
messages from individuals interested in acquiring books for themselves and I
have no interest in supplying free books to individuals. THE OFFER WAS FOR
LIBRARIES ONLY. Synagogue libraries, school libraries, museum libraries,
college or university libraries, holocaust centers, historical societies,
archives, etc. ... All are OK.
Please DO NOT tell your friends unless they acquire books
for a library.
List is still available upon request.

Le-Shanah Tovah,
Henry

[ha-Safran] books to give away

2015-03-22 Thread Aileen Grossberg

Dr. Michael Kogan, longtime professor of religion and Chairman of the
Department of Religion and Philosophy at Montclair State University in
Montclair, New Jersey is retiring and moving from the area. He has an extensive
collection of books-thousands he says- on religion, many on Judaism. He is
looking to find homes for these books. Our small synagogue library cannot take
the collection as we have absolutely no space.

There is no list and Dr. Kogan does not use email except under duress.

So...if you are within driving distance and are interested in looking over his
books SOON, please contact me and I will forward the information to Michael.
