Re: [ha-Safran] Books for Sephardic Children

2012-08-22 Thread Amalia Warshenbrot
I suggest Around the World in One Shabbat written and illustrated by Durga Yael
Bernhard
(Jewish Lights Publishing) is this year’s Sydney Taylor book award recipient.
It is recommended for Sephardic Children and all Jewish children and can be
used by a teacher all year round.

Subject: [ha-Safran] Books for Sephardic Children

I am beginning a new position as a librarian in a Sephardic
yeshiva. The principal asked me for a list of books that would be attractive
to our students, preschool through second grade. I have some ideas, but would
like more suggestions. Thanks in advance!

2012-08-23 Thread Daniel Scheide
It’s a great book, but since the question was regarding an Orthodox
institution, I should just point out that one scene has people using the
telephone on Shabbat.
