Fellow librarians!

I'm seeking recommendations for nonfiction/reference resources on Purim for
middle and high school students. Preferably current titles. We already
have Goodman's Purim Anthology, but I'd like to know what else there is that
you recommend. Thanks!

Re: [ha-Safran] purim resources

2016-01-17 Thread Marcia Goldlist
I would like to recommend two Purim resources:

*Enjoying the Book of Esther: The Bible in Rhyme
* contains both the full book of
Esther as well as a summary written in rhyming couplets. Kathie Pinchuck,
Past Chair, Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee wrote "The Book of Esther is
a solid purchase for Jewish libraries".

I have also just published a kindle book *Family Preparations for the
Jewish Holidays: Purim . *The book
contains a variety of ways to prepare for Purim. There are suggestions for
Purim carnivals, costumes, mishloach manot, as well as ways to make the
Purim meal memorable. While much of the book gives ideas to parents, the
junior high and high school crowd will find it useful for help in creating
a Purim carnival or doing a mishloach manot campaign.
